What Individual Therapy Is
Individual therapy offers a grounded, confidential space to reduce immediate distress and create change that lasts. We pair skills for today (regulation, clarity, action) with deeper work (trauma processing, parts work, attachment repair) as you’re ready. Sessions are collaborative, paced and rooted in your goals for treatment.
Who It’s For
Anyone concerned with
Anxiety, stress, panic or burnout that won’t switch off
Old experiences showing up as triggers, shutdown or people pleasing
Harsh inner critic, perfectionism or difficulty setting boundaries
Identity exploration (gender, sexuality, culture, roles, transitions)
Grief, medical stressors or relationship changes you want to navigate with care
What to Expect
Consultation (10–15 min): In a brief call, we confirm fit and licensure (NY & CO), clarify your goals and review scheduling and logistics.
Intake (Session 1): We map your goals, history, supports and boundaries, and we agree on a pace that feels workable and safe.
Early Work: We build nervous system regulation, clarify patterns that keep looping and choose small, values aligned steps that bring early relief while we stabilize sleep, energy and routines.
Core Work: We integrate methods such as EMDR to reduce the charge on high impact memories, IFS to soften inner critics/avoidant parts and ACT/CBT to unhook from worry loops and strengthen daily habits; when relationships are central, we incorporate attachment informed strategies.
Integration: We translate gains into everyday life by reinforcing new habits, boundaries and scripts for tough moments, and we review progress regularly so the plan evolves with you.
Methods I Draw From
EMDR: Helps the brain reprocess stuck memories so triggers lose power, without having to relive the event.
Internal Family Systems (IFS): “Parts work” that reduces self conflict and builds compassionate Self leadership.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) / CBT: Practical tools to unhook from unhelpful thoughts and take values based action without perfection pressure.
Attachment informed work (EFT principles): Steadies relationships by making connection safer and repair more reliable.
Systemic lens: Considers body, culture, identity, and context so change is sustainable.
