Frequently Asked Questions

  • I work with individuals, couples, and multi partner relationships who are navigating intimacy, sexuality, trauma or life transitions. My practice is welcoming of LGBTQIA+ identities, kink, polyamory and diverse relationship structures. I strive to create a space where all experiences are respected and honored.

  • I use an integrative approach, drawing from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Sex Therapy modalities. I strongly believe in collaboration in treatment, so together we’ll decide which approaches best fit your needs and goals so therapy feels personal and effective.

  • The first session is mostly about getting to know you. We’ll talk about your history, what brought you to therapy, and what you’d like to change or explore. By the end you’ll have a sense of what working together might look like and I’ll answer any questions you have.

Getting Started

  • While I am in network with select insurances (Aetna and Optum) I am primarily an out of network provider. Most clients use their out of network benefits to get reimbursement from their insurance company. I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. I’m happy to help you understand how this works so you know what to expect.

  • My practice is designed to provide the highest quality services for the most intimate and vulnerable concerns. My time spent outside of the therapy room is focused on trainings, continuing education, treatment planning and clinical improvement. I am able to spend more time with clients and tailoring their care with this decision to not bill insurance directly.

  • My standard fees for Individual Therapy are $165 for 45 minute sessions and $200 for 55 minute sessions. My standard fee for couple’s sessions is $250 for 50 minute sessions. My standard fee for multi-partner therapy is $300 for 55 minute sessions for 3 clients. Each additional partner is +$50 for the session.

Fees cover not just our time in session, but also my preparation, ongoing training, and secure technology to protect your privacy. Please see the Fees and Insurance page for more details.

  • I keep a limited number of reduced fee spots for clients who might not otherwise be able to access therapy. Please reach out if cost is a concern. If I don’t have a spot available I will be able to add you to my waitlist for these spots.

Insurance, Payment and Policies

  • I currently see clients through secure video sessions, available to anyone living in New York and Colorado. This allows you to access therapy from the comfort of your home or another private space. I have office space located conveniently in Downtown Brooklyn for those that wish to have in person sessions.

  • Standard individual sessions are 45 or 55 minutes. Sometimes, extended sessions (75–90 minutes) are recommended for EMDR, couples therapy, and multi partner therapy so we have enough time to work deeply without feeling rushed.

  • Life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours notice to avoid a late cancellation fee. If you have an in person session, you must give at least 48 hours notice to avoid the office rental late cancellation fee. This makes it possible for me to offer the time to someone else who may be waiting.
